Christchurch, Wellington, and Tauranga

Come work with us!

Are you the bookkeeping superstar we’re looking for? If you’re a whizz with systems, love numbers, and are passionate about empowering businesses, this is for you.

At RightWay, we have created a fantastic working model ensuring that we base everything we do around what's best for the customer and what will help to add value to their business. At the same time, we offer our team a flexible and supportive working environment with opportunities to grow and develop their career.

We provide a full range of accounting compliance and planning services to customers throughout the region and beyond. Our customers are successful SME and high-end businesses operating across a range of industries.

We are currently looking for a full-time Bookkeeper in both Tauranga and Wellington, as well as a part-time Bookkeeper in Christchurch.

About the Role

As one of our regionally-based Bookkeepers, you will assist our customers with the ongoing financial recording and management of transactions that keep their business running smoothly. Your typical day will extend beyond data entry into the realm of providing automated process and efficiency to our business owners.

You are known for your can-do attitude, customer centricity, and team focus. An inquisitive mind leads you to spot opportunities, and your clear and logical thought processes lead you to great solutions.

What does a day in the life of one of our Bookkeepers entail?

  • Accurate data entry, document and report management.
  • Facilitating pay-runs on behalf of customers, including PAYE returns and providing key legislative interpretation and advice.
  • Managing payable and receivable invoices including entry and batch payments.
  • Preparation of GST returns.
  • Bank reconciliations and cash flow management, reporting, and forecasting.
  • NZ Companies Office management on behalf of customers.
  • Management of budget preparation and maintenance for designated customers.
  • Spotting opportunities for software enhancements and add-ons.
  • Delivery of effective Xero training to customers.

You will have a minimum of two years’ generalist bookkeeping experience, ideally with an understanding of public practice. Naturally your financial administration skills are well-honed, particularly in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax. The ability to use your time and resources effectively whilst maintaining a high attention to detail is a given, as you work across the various demands in your day.

Our employees value a unique and flexible working environment, the chance to excel in their chosen profession (internal promotion is common at RightWay), competitive remuneration, and a positive, creative and fun team and culture.

If you have a genuine desire to be part of the RightWay team, and are passionate about helping customers, we would love to hear from you.
