"RightWay was hugely important to us because if we wanted to sell our business it means we’ll have something to sell, rather than just creative ideas.”
Willa & Mae
Willa & Mae is a luxury loungewear company that has captured the attention of those with great taste across New Zealand and the world. The idea for Willa & Mae, as many great ideas do, came from a brainstorming session over a glass of wine shared by sisters Emma Clark and Rana Reuther.
They couldn’t find sleepwear that they felt comfortable wearing and felt the market was flooded with low-end sleepwear covered in cartoons made from manmade fibres.
They decided to change that and in December 2014 launched Willa & Mae, a luxury silk, quality sleepwear label (French seams were a must) inspired by the classic 1920s men’s style pyjama but cut for the feminine silhouette.
RightWay is proud to have Willa & Mae as clients, and asked Emma Clark to share her thoughts with us...
What’s so good about RightWay?
“Any time I have a problem I ring Richard (RightWay Business Partner) – I know he’s just a phone call away. We pay a monthly fee so I can ring him whenever I want and I don’t think twice because it’s built in.”
What advice do you have for business owners starting out?
“Get really good people that you trust on board to help you. It can be hard to justify spending money on consultants but RightWay has saved us money in the long run.”
Advice to other creative business owners?
“You can’t be a creative and expect a business to grow without proper systems in place. Setting up our accounting systems with RightWay was hugely important to us because if we wanted to sell our business it means we’ll have something to sell, rather than just creative ideas.”
