NZTE Capability Voucher Funding

The Capability Voucher Funding is an initiative focused on helping business owners access business training and coaching services, by providing them with up to a 50% subsidy toward the registered
service cost.

If you are eligible, you would meet with one of the NZTE Growth Advisors who will assess your needs and determine the best support available to help you grow and innovate. Where there is an opportunity to enhance management capability in your business through training, a Capability Voucher may be issued.

Vouchers can be used for a vast spectrum of subject areas which you can view on the Regional Business Partner Network website. At RightWay, we can specifically offer the following training, which qualifies for capability voucher funding:

The value of the capability vouchers issued can vary. They can be used to cover up to 50% of the training service cost. Funding may be up to a maximum of $5,000 per year, for services of up to $10,000.

Eligibility criteria

To qualify for the capability development voucher scheme, businesses must:

  • Have fewer than 50 full time employees
  • Be operating in a commercial environment
  • Be registered for GST in New Zealand
  • Be privately owned, or a Maori Trust or incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Maori assets under multiple ownership

Expiry Date of Vouchers

Capability vouchers have an expiry date of three calendar months from date of issue. The expiry date refers to the date by which a voucher is validated with your growth advisor. A booking for a workshop/coaching must then be made within the voucher’s validity date. (Note: The service itself does not need to be provided within the three months).
