DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY AT (OR OUT OF) THE OFFICE

My day at the office involves a mix of being in the Martinborough office catching up with the team and completing admin, and out visiting customers for our regular growth meetings.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?

Meeting customers and helping people. The awesome Martinborough team.

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO RIGHTWAY?

Destiny? I originally studied to be a lawyer but didn't get into second year (got a B+ and needed an A). Rather than doing it again, I decided on accounting. Then I married a dairy farmer and moved to the Wairarapa. So I became a business owner and love agri-accounting, because it means helping other small business owners. Funny how things work out.

PLEASE DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN YOUR ADVICE AND SUPPORT REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE FOR A CUSTOMER.

I love when we can create a way to do something in 10 minutes, that used to take a customer many hours each week. I think it’s these little things – like reclaiming those extra hours for a customer – that make the biggest difference!

PRESUMING LOVED ONES AND PETS ARE SAFE, WHAT THREE THINGS WOULD YOU SAVE FROM A HOUSE FIRE?

I'm not that materialistic, so struggling here. I’m the person in our house that tries to throw out everyone else’s crap. (Ahem, I mean really important sentimental stuff.) All my photos are in the cloud, so they are good. Hmm, maybe clothes, shoes, and makeup? Ha ha!

WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?

Watching: Suits – as mentioned previously, I wanted to be a lawyer. They don't make any glamorous TV programmes about accountants. I don't know why!

Reading: Lean In – A motivating read about women leaning into careers despite juggling a million things.

Listening to: My daughter Brooke and I like singing to George Ezra at the moment, but we also switch to Peppa Pig and the Dora the Explorer compilation, depending on which child gets their way.

IF YOU HAD A GUILT-FREE $1000 (OR 2K OR 5K) TO SPEND, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Get on a plane to as far as the money would take me. But I’d have to weigh up distance versus the time I could spend there.
