Christchurch Central . Canterbury Region

Senior Accountant

At RightWay, we’re about you, and our clients are at the heart of what we do.

We’re large enough to provide you with opportunities for growth but small enough to get to know you and understand what you really need in order to live your best life.

While our team is New Zealand-wide and offers flexible working solutions, including being able to work remotely (as we are cloud-based) or from our offices, we’re a tight bunch and our engagement with one another is high.

Fit is really important to us – you’ll love working for us because of who we are and what we do, and we’ll love having you on board. We are evolving as a business, so you’ll be excited by the prospect of continuous improvement (and dare we say it, ‘change’). We encourage out-of-the-box thinking and inquisitiveness, and we embrace our collective genius because each of us has valuable life and business experiences to offer.

Flexible working
Full time

Is building exceptional rapport your forte?  Do you have a natural flair for looking beyond the numbers? Are you a firm believer that life’s better when you love what you do? Is the ability to balance home and work life an important factor for you?

Our clients are successful SME and high-end businesses operating across a range of industries, and we are on the look-out for an individual not only with senior accounting experience (or strong intermediate experience looking for that next step) but the passion and drive to really get alongside our clients and forge solid relationships. Ideally, you will be CA or CPA qualified, alternatively you will have loads of relevant, transferrable experience.  You’ll also understand what it’s like to work in a CA firm.

This is not your traditional accounting role, and we’re not just about compliance. You will be someone who gets excited by working with business owners and helping them understand their numbers, and likewise, you will be passionate about the success of their business. Your typical day will extend to providing tangible value-add business advice to business owners. You’ll love the feeling of sharing in a client's success but also strive for the best outcome when things get a little tougher.

We enjoy the collaborative environment in the office space but our cloud-based systems and flexibility also mean we don’t miss a beat, so working from home can be accommodated.

What are the nuts and bolts of this role?

First and foremost, your personality is dynamic, so you’ll naturally forge brilliant relationships with our clients as well as your extended team. You will display excellent technical and commercial acumen through tax planning, cashflows, budgeting, and other advisory work. Monthly and quarterly management reporting for key clients, will be a key part of your work, and finally, the preparation of year-end financial statements and tax returns. Internally, you will be a valued extension of your local Business Partner, as well as highly respected by your colleagues.

‘Fit’ is a non-negotiable for us – you’ll love working for us because of who we are and what we do, and we’ll love having you on board.
